Introduction to KCF Technologies, Inc.
KCF Technologies is a small privately held engineering technology corporation founded in downtown State College in November, 2000 by three Mechanical Engineering researchers from Penn State University. KCF maintains a research focus on smart material devices, vibration and noise, performs consulting work primarily related to noise control and designing quiet structures, and sells vibration and noise control sensing and testing products.
Position Summary:
Sales Engineer
KCF Technologies, Inc. (State College, PA) seeks to hire a full-time sales engineer. This position requires an entrepreneurial, self-starter that enjoys working in the boundary between sales, marketing and product development. The individual will be responsible for supporting the sales effort on KCF's product lines. This person will be responsible for building and maintaining KCF's dealer network in addition to handing customer support for existing marine products. In addition, this individual will take part in product development, bringing customer focus and requirements to the team.
This key person will be part of a project team which includes electrical and mechanical engineers, other sales and marketing personnel, and project management, throughout all product development stages. The candidate must be a self starter who is innovative and capable of multitasking, with the ability to operate in a dynamic small entrepreneurial environment. The individual will have strong communication and documentation skills. Employment consideration will only be given to individuals who have a proven commercial track record.
Role:
• Support the sales and marketing efforts on KCF's product lines
• Contact potential customers, dealers, and partners to define customer focused product requirements
• Transfer customer, dealer and partner requirements to product development team
• Assist in the development of marketing materials for trade shows, website, and dealer support
Qualifications Required :
• BS in engineering
• 3+ years as sales engineer, supporting sales and marketing efforts
• Exceptional written and verbal communication skills
• U.S. citizenship
Other Desired Characteristics:
The successful candidate is entrepreneurial, able to work independently as well as on a team, takes initiative, is a strong innovator, has the ability to multitask, and assumes ownership of their part of a project. Knowledge of mechanical systems, noise and vibration, and underwater devices a plus.
