Introduction to KCF Technologies, Inc.
KCF Technologies is a small privately held engineering technology corporation founded in downtown State College in November, 2000 by three Mechanical Engineering researchers from Penn State University. KCF maintains a research focus on smart material devices, vibration and noise, performs consulting work primarily related to noise control and designing quiet structures, and sells vibration and noise control sensing and testing products.
Position Summary:
Senior Software Developer
KCF Technologies, Inc. (State College, PA) seeks to hire a full-time software developer for Windows-based and embedded platforms. The individual will be responsible for creating, maintaining, documenting and upgrading application specific software. The successful candidate will be able to create a functional, aesthetically pleasing GUI for KCF's commercial product lines. As a secondary role, the candidate will also take on tasks related to embedded, interrupt driven, low power applications on a variety of microprocessor based platforms.
This key person will be part of a project team which includes electrical and mechanical engineers, sales and marketing personnel, and project management, throughout all product development stages. The candidate must be a self starter who is innovative and capable of multitasking, with the ability to operate in a dynamic small entrepreneurial environment. The individual will have strong communication and documentation skills. Employment consideration will only be given to individuals who have a proven commercial track record.
Role:
• Create C/C++, Windows based applications for existing and future products
• Work closely with marketing, management, and other engineering disciplines to define customer requirements
• Create embedded applications for microprocessor platforms
• Create software requirement and specification documentation on various products and projects
• Create complete documentation of a project
• Give presentations of technical information
Qualifications Required :
• BS/MS in Electrical Engineering or Software Engineering
• 5+ years developing Windows based software applications
• 2+ years developing GUI's for software used by end customers
• Exceptional written and verbal communication skills
• U. S. citizenship
Other Desired Characteristics:
The successful candidate is entrepreneurial, able to work independently as well as on a team, takes initiative, is a strong innovator, has the ability to multitask, and assumes ownership of their part of a project. Knowledge of mechanical systems, noise and vibration, and underwater devices a plus.
Compensation and Benefits:
