High Sound Transmission-Loss Enclosure Design

• Designed an acoustic enclosure to isolate the noise produced by a noisy industrial pump.
• The design incorporated forced-air lined ducting to exhaust heat from the enclosure without losing the high transmission loss.
• A removable hatch allows accessibility to the equipment and easy maintenance.

Solid model of the enclosure design.  The cut-away section shows the lined ducting for sound-proof ventilation.
The enclosure achieved an A-weighted sound reduction of 19 dB, as measured in a reverberation room.
