Short Course in Optimal Design for Noise Control

We have developed a short course on the use of modeling and optimization in design (most recently presented at the TEKES Technology Program in Helsinki, Finland, and in a special seminar at the Tokyo Institute of Technology in Japan). The course consists of three integrated stages. First is an introduction to acoustics and the design of quiet structures. Second is a demonstration using Finite Element Analysis to analyze the vibration of a structure. Finally, optimization techniques are presented that are used to optimally design for noise control. The course is hands-on, and follows a real world example through the three design stages. In addition, it can be catered to accommodate existing FEM software or target specific types of noise control problems. Please contact us to discuss a short course at your company or university.
