Development of a Power-Harvesting Piezoelectric Element to Capture and Store Mechanical Vibration Energy for an RF Sensor:

KCF Technologies, in collaboration with International Marketing Inc. (IMI) and Vehicle Enhancement Systems (VES) has engaged in the development of a power-harvesting patch to power an RF patch for tracking of tires in trucking fleets. Preliminary demonstrations of the device have shown great promise in generating the energy required to expand the operating function of the RF tag. The self-powered tags are expected to greatly enhance the performance of tire fleet tracking systems.
