Solar Harvester
Solar Energy Harvester (SH-1) eliminates the need to change batteries by capturing visible electromagnetic radiation for light levels as low as 500 Lux.

Why Use Solar Harvesters?
Wireless sensors offer great promise for cost savings and downtime avoidance, but battery replacement can affect the value proposition in locations that are inaccessible or where batteries are precluded. KCF Technologies’ Solar Energy Harvester (SH-1) provides a reliable solution for these cases.
APPLICATIONS
- Outdoor sensor installations for monitoring of bridges, buildings, and structures
- Pipeline or other system infrastructures
- Industrial wireless sensors where 500 Lux light levels are available

Harvester Power Generation
The Solar Harvester generates power based on the amount of light striking the surface of the photovoltaic panel on the harvester. The harvester will generate sufficient energy to power the SmartDiagnostics® sensor nodes with as little as 500 Lux of ambient light. The amount of energy harvested increases with more light as shown in the chart below.

Federal Communications Commission Compliance ‒ FCC Class B Device Statement The radio equipment in the SmartDiagnostics Receiver Nodes and SmartDiagnostics Sensor Nodes has been tested and found to comply with the limits for a Class B digital device, pursuant to part 15 of FCC Rules. These limits are designed to provide reasonable protection against harmful interference in a residential installation. Hazardous Location Information ‒ The SmartDiagnostics Vibration Sensor Node model SD-VSN-2N is certified to be suitable for use in Class I, Division 2, Groups A,B,C,D or non-hazardous locations only.
